5 Most Deadly Animals in the United States

Ever wonder which of the hundreds of thousands of animals in the U.S. are the most dangerous? You are in luck…this is the 5 Most Deadly Animals in the United States. The United States is the land of the free and the home of the brave. Unfortunately, it’s also home to quite a few dangerous creatures. America’s founders may have given us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but they weren’t able to protect us from these 5 deadly animals!

Rattlesnakes

Rattlesnakes

Rattlesnakes are the most feared snake in the U.S. Even the bite of a baby rattler can kill a grown man. Rattlesnakes are extremely deadly and average around 6 deaths per year. Amusingly, most people who die from rattlesnake bites are men between the ages of 17 and 27 who were drunk at the time. Some things are just never a good idea, especially after a few drinks!

Spiders

Spiders

As a whole, spiders are extremely dangerous creatures to unsuspecting U.S. citizens! These tiny animals are responsible for around 7 deaths in the U.S. every year. Whether it’s a creepy brown recluse or a scary black widow, spiders often kill their human victims out of self-defense and surprise. Still, they can appear in unexpected locations, which is why so many people fall victim to their sticky venom every year. Make sure to bring a flashlight the next time you go digging around in the dark!

Dogs

Dogs

We might want to change our relationship status with man’s best friend to “it’s complicated.” Dogs are among the most deadly animals in the United States! Every year, dogs are responsible for around 31 deaths in the U.S. Most of these are attacks against children and the elderly! Rover may be cute, cuddly and fun to play with, but don’t make him angry. He may just play a little bit too…rough.

Bees & Hornets

Bees & Hornets

Bees and hornets may be small, but they swarm in large enough numbers to kill. Although most bees prefer to be left alone, it doesn’t take much to set them off. Hornets, on the other hand, are known to be highly aggressive and will often attack with very little provocation. Bees and hornets together were responsible for the most purposeful animal deaths in the U.S., averaging 53 deaths a year! Most of those deaths were due to people who were allergic to stings. You may just want to think twice the next time you laugh at someone who runs from the room because of a bee!

Deer

Deer

Deer may seem cute, gentle and helpless, but they are the deadliest animals in America! Deer are responsible for around 200 human deaths every year. Although the majority of these deaths are due to humans running into them, deer are known to hop into the road at the worst possible times, or stand in the middle dark roads and gleefully watch as their helpless human victims plow right into them. Crazily enough, young deer may even survive the crash, even when the poor human did not. Think about that the next time you feel sorry for Bambi!
